Q) What happens when the free years hosting runs out?
A) In order to keep your website up and running, you will have to pay a small fee of £50 per year after that. This covers your domain name, hosting and e-mail address for another year. It also includes free updates again for this period. A simple e-mail will be sent to you approx 1 month before payment is due, asking you if you want to continue with your site or not.
Note: If you order a .com domain name there will be an extra charge of £15 per year as these are more expensive. This £15 will also be added to the initial website cost.
Q) What if I already have a website and would like it replacing?
A) As long as you have all the details for your existing domain address i.e. FTP address, user name and password, I can upload your new site to this address. If you have created a site yourself using a free site creator then you will need to order a completely new site from me.
Q) Do you create your websites using a free internet website maker?
A) Absolutely not! My sites are all designed personally by me to your specifications using state of the art website design software. The domain names are also genuine and are not part of a ‘free’ hosting site like so many others are. You will be getting a totally original website!
Q) Can I add any more pages or change any of the policies etc?
A) Yes. Let me know on the order page what you require. I am extremely flexible in the design of my websites. Anything you provide me with, I will incorporate the best I can. Even after you order a site you can email me with anything else you would like to add. If you wish to add lots of extra pages though, email me first as I may have to charge a small fee per page depending on the size. Usually, just one or two extra pages and I don’t mind putting them in for you free of charge.
Q) Can I use my own pictures or photographs?
A) Yes. Send them to me as e-mail attachments and I will incorporate them into your site.
Q) What if I am new to childminding and don’t have much information to give you?
A) That’s OK, don’t worry! I will fill in the gaps with standard pictures and text. Your website will still be great and people will think you’ve been in the business for years!
Q) What if I want to update the site 6 months on?
A) No problem. E-mail me the changes and I will update your site for you. Any reasonably small change in the future is free. Any extra pages for example and I may charge a small fee for this.
Q) What about e-mail addresses?
A) You get a ‘catch-all’ email address which means that if you want to you can literally have anything@yoursite.co.uk. I supply full instructions for setup using Outlook Express.
Q) Is my site submitted to any search engines?
A) I offer a low cost search engine submission package at £30. This is extremely useful if you want people to be able to find you by searching the net.
Q) Does the site work with all browsers?
A) All my websites are optimised to work best with Internet Explorer or FireFox and as such I mainly advise the use of these browsers. You may find that they also work well with other browsers too, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Q) Do you give my details to anyone else?
A) No. Any information that you give me will be in the strictest confidence. Also, once your website is up and running I do not touch it unless you ask me to.
