A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Hi there. My name is Dave Fox. I’ve gradually built this tiny business up over the years starting with my wife’s first childminding website. I now have many websites out there, hopefully all bringing business to childminders and nurseries around the UK.

I keep my prices low but my quality high and I’m always here when my customers want me with prompt and friendly help. Thank you for your support :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q) What happens when the free years hosting runs out?
A) In order to keep your website up and running, you will have to pay a small fee of £70 per year after that. There are no monthly fees like other web companies charge. This covers your domain name, maintenance, hosting and e-mail address (if used) for another year. It also includes 3 free updates again for this period. A simple e-mail will be sent to you approx 1 month before payment is due, asking you if you want to continue with your site or not - if you do not want your website after this time then that’s fine.

Q) What if I already have a website and would like it replacing?
A) As long as you have all the details for your existing domain address i.e. FTP address, user name and password, I can upload your new site to this address. If you have created a site yourself using a free site creator then you will need to order a completely new site from me.

Q) Could I have a .com or .net domain name?
Yes you could. I supply free .co.uk domain names but If you want a .com domain name there will be an extra charge of £30 as these are classed as international domains and as such are more expensive. This £30 will also be added to the yearly subscription fee.

Q) Do you create your websites using a free internet website maker?
A) Absolutely not! My sites are all designed personally by me to your specifications using state of the art website design software. The domain names are also genuine and are not part of a ‘free’ hosting site like so many others are. You will be getting a totally original website!

Q) Can I add any more pages or change any part of the site etc?
A) Yes. Let me know on the order page what you require. I am extremely flexible in the design of my websites. Anything you provide me will be incorporated the best way possible. Even after you order a site you can email me with anything else you would like to add. If you wish to add extra pages I charge £10 per extra page.

Q) Can I use my own pictures or photographs?
A) Yes. Send them to me as e-mail attachments and I will incorporate them into your site.

Q) What if I am new to childminding and don’t have much information to give you?
A) That’s OK, don’t worry! I will fill in the gaps with standard pictures and text. Your website will still be great and people will think you’ve been in the business for years!

Q) What if I want to update the site 6 months on?
A) No problem. E-mail me the changes and I will update your site for you. Any small change in the future is free (up to 3 per year). Any extra pages for example and I charge a small fee of just £10.

Q) What about e-mail addresses?
A) I prefer customers to keep their own email address but if you want I can supply you with everything you need to set up a new one using your favourite e-mail client. I also offer a simpler on-line client called Webmail where you log in each time to see your emails. This doesn’t require setting up but the downside is that for security reasons the emails are deleted after 4 weeks so backups are advised.

Q) Do you optimise my website for search engines?
A) I offer a low cost search engine package at just £29. This is extremely useful if you want people to be able to find you by searching the main internet search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.

Q) Does the site work with all browsers including mobile phones and tablets?
A) All my websites are optimised to work best with Internet Explorer, Chrome or FireFox and as such I mainly advise the use of these browsers. You may find that they also work well with other browsers too, but this cannot be guaranteed. My websites should work fine on tablets too and I now offer a very affordable mobile version of your website that works great on smart phones. See here for more.

Q) Do you give my details to anyone else?
A) No. I am registered with the ICO and any information or photographs that you give me will be treated with the strictest of confidence. Once your website is up and running your data is kept secure on my computer and on one backup drive only - I do not touch it unless you ask me to or unless any necessary maintenance is needed.
